Apple and Oat Breakfast Mix
Apple And Oat Breakfast Mix is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. quick cooking oatmeal, 1 1/2 c. chopped, dried apples, 2/3 c. chopped pecans, 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

To dry apples
Select any tart, firm-textured apple (Granny Smith, Jonathan or McIntosh).
Wash, peel, core and cut into 1/4 to 1/2-inch slices or rings.
Pretreat by dipping in ascorbic acid mixture.
Dry at 130° to 135° until pliable, preferably in a food dehydrator.
I use the oven; it works well.
I place fruit on a cookie sheet.
