Anise Snaps
Anise Snaps is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c sifted cake flour, 1 tsp soda, 1 tsp cream of tartar, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 c butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Sift together, flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt, (several times).
Cream butter and sugar until light.
Add eggs, then Anise seed.
Chill until firm enough to shape.
Shape into small balls an inch in diameter.
Sprinkle more anise seed on greased baking sheet and place dough balls far apart.
Bake in hot oven, at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.
