Angel Food Cake
Angel Food Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. cake flour, 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar, 1 1/2 c. egg whites (about 12), room temperature, 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar and 1 c. white sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Mix flour and powdered sugar.
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy.
Beat in sugar 2 tablespoons at a time. Continue beating until stiff and glossy.
Add salt and vanilla.
Do not underbeat!
Sprinkle flour-powdered sugar mixture 1/4 cup at a time, folding just until mixture disappears.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 to 40 minutes or until done.
Use an ungreased angel food pan. Cool upside down on a funnel or bottle.
Take out when completely cooled.
