Angel Biscuits
Angel Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. active dry yeast, 2 tbsp. warm water (105~ to 115~), about 5 c. all-purpose flour, 1/4 c. sugar and 1 tbsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
In small bowl dissolve yeast in the warm water.
In large bowl combine 5 cups flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Stir in buttermilk and dissolved yeast until dough leaves side of bowl.
(Dough will be soft.)
