Yeast Rolls
Yeast Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. yeast, 1 1/2 c. milk, 2 tsp. salt, 1 egg, beaten and 1/2 c. lukewarm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Soften yeast in warm water, scald milk, add sugar, salt and shortening.
Beat in 2 cups flour.
Add softened yeast and egg. Mix well, then add remaining flour to make a soft dough.
Turn out on floured board and knead until dough is smooth and elastic. Place in a greased crock, cover and let rise in warm place until doubled.
Punch down, shape into rolls and let rise to double. Bake at 375Β° for 15 minutes.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen rolls.
