Yeast Biscuits
Yeast Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1/4 c. warm water, 2 1/2 c. flour, 1 tsp. baking powder and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
Cut in shortening.
Stir in buttermilk and yeast mixture.
Mix well.
Turn out on lightly floured surface, knead lightly 3 or 4 times and roll to 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter.
Place on lightly greased baking sheet.
Cover and let rise in a warm place about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Preheat oven to 400Β°.
Bake for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes about 12 biscuits.
