Cream the shortening and add sugars; beat well.
Add eggs and continue beating.
Add dry ingredients, vanilla and 1 or more of the suggested ingredients.
If coconut is added, coconut flavoring adds something extra to the taste.
Chill overnight in refrigerator.
Place pieces of dough about the size of a walnut on a cookie sheet and bake at 325Β°.
