Vanilla Fudge
Vanilla Fudge is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. margarine, 3 c. sugar, 1/4 c. karo syrup (dark or light), 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 c. light cream, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Place all ingredients, except vanilla and nuts, in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, to soft ball stage (238°). Remove from heat.
Add vanilla.
Cool to lukewarm (110°).
Then beat until fudge begins to thicken and loses its gloss.
Pour in nuts.
Quickly spread into an 8-inch square pan.
Cut into squares.
Makes about 2 pounds.
If desired, add 1/4 cup candied maraschino cherries.
