Vanilla Caramels
Vanilla Caramels is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. half-and-half, 2 c. sugar, 3/4 c. light brown corn syrup, 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Combine sugar, 1 cup of half-and-half, syrup and butter.
Cook over medium heat for 7 to 8 minutes until mixture comes to a full boil.
Add remaining half-and-half and cook at a slow boil until mixture reaches 245 degrees on a candy thermometer (this takes a while).
Add vanilla.
Pour into a greased 8 or 9 inch square pan and let cool.
Cut into pieces.
