Heat oven to 350Β°.

Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

In large bowl, stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.

With pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; set aside.

In another large bowl, lightly beat eggs and vanilla.

Add dry mixture to egg mixture; beat until ingredients are well blended.

Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake 25 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle marshmallows evenly over brownies, covering entire surface.

Return to oven and bake 5 minutes; remove from oven.

Cool in pan 10 minutes.

Combine peanut butter chips and shortening in top of double boiler over hot, not boiling, water.

Stir until melted.

Add cereal; stir until thoroughly coated.

Immediately spread over top of marshmallows. Cool until set.

Cut into squares.
