Top of Stove Biscuits
Top Of Stove Biscuits is an easy dinner. Made with 3 c. self-rising flour, 1 1/2 c. buttermilk or milk or water and 1/2 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Make hole in center of flour with knuckles.
Put shortening in the mix as in regular biscuits.
Then pinch off enough for size of biscuit.
Roll up in hand.
Place in slightly greased frying pan (on top of stove); continue with rest of dough.
Cook on low heat, covered with lid until lightly brown on bottom, then turn over to other side.
Let top side brown, uncover about 5 minutes before done.
Makes 6 to 8 biscuits.
Cooking time approximately 45 minutes.
