Toffee is an easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1 stick butter, chocolate chips and chopped pecans or walnuts, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

In heavy pan, melt butter and brown sugar.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until mixture reaches 290Β° on candy thermometer.
Pour onto greased cookie sheet covered with the nuts.
Spread out as thin as you can.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
When melted, spread to make icing.
Let cool completely.
