Toffee
Toffee is an easy dinner. Made with 35 saltine crackers, 2 sticks margarine or butter, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 (12 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate and 1 c. chopped pecans (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Heat oven to 350Β°.
Line jelly roll pan with aluminum foil. Layer pan with crackers (5 across by 7 down).
Melt butter, then add brown sugar.
Stir thoroughly and pour over crackers.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven.
Pour bag of semi-sweet chocolate on top.
Let melt, then spread.
Sprinkle with pecans.
Refrigerate and cool 1/2 hour.
Remove foil; break into pieces.
