Thumbprint Cookies
Thumbprint Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. soft margarine, 1/4 c. brown sugar, 1 egg yolk, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1 c. sifted flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Mix together thoroughly the margarine, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla.
Sift flour and salt into mixture; mix well.
Roll into 1-inch balls; dip in slightly beaten egg white.
Roll into nuts (optional).
Place about 1 inch apart on cookie sheet with parchment paper on it.
Bake at 375Β° for 5 minutes.
Remove from oven; quickly press thumb* gently on top of each cookie.
Return to oven and bake 8 minutes longer.
After cooled, place jelly or icing in the thumbprints.
