Thrifty Pound Cake
Thrifty Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening (i use 1/2 c. crisco and 1/2 c. margarine), 2 c. sugar, 3 c. plain flour, 4 eggs and 1 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Preheat the oven to 350°.
Sift flour once, measure and add baking powder.
Sift again.
Put shortening, sugar, eggs and flavoring in a large bowl of an electric mixer.
On high speed, beat 2 1/2 to 3 minutes; then turn to low.
Mix milk and flour, alternately, about 1/3 cup milk and flour at a time.
Just mix long enough to get mixed good.
Bake in a well greased and floured tube pan for an hour at 350°.
