Tea Cakes
Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter or margarine, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cream the butter and sugar.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla.
Sift the flour, baking powder and soda together.
Work the wet and dry mixtures together thoroughly with your hands. If the dough is not stiff enough, add a little more flour.
Form the dough into two rolls.
Chill them one hour, then slice into 1/2-inch slices and place on ungreased baking sheet or take the dough by spoonful and roll into balls and place on baking sheet.
Bake in 350Β° oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
