Tangy Herbed Chicken
Tangy Herbed Chicken is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (3 1/2 lb.) frozen broiler-fryer, 1/4 c. butter or margarine, 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar, 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce and 1 1/2 tsp. dried whole thyme, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. To thaw, unwrap chicken and place, breast side down, on a microwave roasting rack in a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Microwave at Medium-low (30% power) for 10 minutes.
Turn chicken, breast side up; shield wing tips, tail and ends of legs with foil. Microwave chicken at Medium-low for 10 minutes, or until chicken is soft but still very cold.
Run cold water inside chicken until giblets can be removed; reserve giblets for other uses.
Rinse chicken cavity with cold water until chicken is no longer icy. Pat dry.
