Swiss Steak
Swiss Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. round or chuck steak, 1/2 c. flour, salt and pepper to taste, 1/3 c. fat and 1 c. tomato juice or a can of tomatoes, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Cut steak into serving pieces.
Pound flour into both sides of meat.
Brown in the 1/3 cup fat.
Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper.
Add tomato juice or tomatoes and onion slices.
Cover and simmer until meat is tender, about 2 hours.
This can be cooked in the oven also, and is great cooked in a crock-pot.
