Sweet-Sour Swiss Chard
Sweet-Sour Swiss Chard is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 c. torn swiss chard, 6 slices bacon, fried, diced and drained (save drippings), 1/2 c. green onion, chopped, 4 tbsp. light brown sugar and 2 tbsp. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Tear small pieces chard or spinach.
Set aside.
Cook bacon crisp.
Save liquid.
Crumble bacon and set aside.
Use grease. Cook green onion until tender.
Add sugar, flour and salt, stir in water and vinegar.
Cook and stir until thick.
Pour over salad. Add bacon, red onion, fresh mushrooms, eggs and Cheddar, Jack or Swiss cheese, grated finely.
Serves 4 to 6.
