Combine first 4 ingredients; set aside.
Beat egg in large bowl and add onion, crumbs, beef, salt and pepper.
Add half the tomato mixture and blend.
Pat meat loaf into ball and turn out into a shallow baking pan.
Shape into loaf.
Pour remaining tomato sauce on top.
Bake at 400Β° for 45 minutes to 1 hour, basting occasionally.
