Sweet and Sour Chestnuts
Sweet And Sour Chestnuts is an easy dinner. Made with 2 (8 oz.) cans whole chestnuts, 1 lb. bacon, 2/3 to 1 c. sugar, 1 1/2 c. catsup and juice of lemon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
👨🍳 Instructions
Cut bacon strips in thirds; wrap around chestnuts and secure with toothpick.
(May need to cut chestnuts in half.)
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
Drain oil.
Prepare mixture (sugar, catsup and lemon juice).
Pour over chestnuts and bake for 30 to 45 minutes at 350°.
