Surprise Snowballs
Surprise Snowballs is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. butter, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 egg and 1/2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

In a large mixing bowl, beat butter on medium until softened. Add sugar and salt; beat until fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
On low, gradually add flour.
Shape the dough into 1-inch balls.
Press a piece of candy in center of each and shape the dough around it.
Place balls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for 15 minutes or until edges are golden.
Place powdered sugar in a plastic bag.
With a spatula, transfer 2 to 3 cookies at a time into the bag.
Gently shake sugar onto the cookies.
Cool on a cooling rack.
When cool, gently shake cookies again.
