Sugared Asparagus
Sugared Asparagus is an easy dinner. Made with 3 tbsp. butter or margarine, 2 tbsp. brown sugar, 2 lb. fresh asparagus, cut into 2-inch pieces (about 4 c.) and 1 c. chicken broth, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat butter and brown sugar until sugar is dissolved.
Add asparagus; saute for 2 minutes. Stir in chicken broth; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer 8 to 10 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender.
Remove asparagus to serving dish and keep warm.
Cook sauce, uncovered, until reduced by half.
Pour over asparagus and serve immediately. Yields 4 to 6 servings.
