Sugar-Free Icing is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. white karo syrup, dash of salt, 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and food coloring (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

In a saucepan, bring syrup to a rolling boil for 1 minute. Beat egg whites and salt.
Pour hot syrup over stiffly beaten eggs and continue beating until it forms peaks. Add vanilla and a few drops of food coloring (optional).
Makes enough to ice a large layer cake.
