Sugar Cookies Or Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. crisco, 2 c. sugar, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. nutmeg and 4 tbsp. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Combine Crisco, salt, lemon rind and nutmeg.
Add sugar and cream well.
Add beaten eggs and milk, mixing well.
Sift flour with baking powder and soda.
Add to creamed mixture.
Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet.
Flatten cookies by stamping with bottom of flat glass dipped in water.
Sprinkle cookies with sugar.
Bake at 375Β° for 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes 4 to 6 dozen cookies.
