Strawberry Pretzel Dessert
Strawberry Pretzel Dessert is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. coarsely crushed pretzels, 3/4 c. margarine, melted, 1 c. plus 3 tbsp. granulated sugar, divided, 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened and 1 (8 oz.) container frozen nondairy whipped topping, thawed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Combine crushed pretzels, margarine and 3 tablespoons sugar; mix well.
Press into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
Bake in preheated oven at 400Β° for 8 minutes.
Remove from oven; let cool completely.
In a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and remaining 1 cup sugar until well blended. Fold in whipped topping.
Spread over cooled pretzel crust. Refrigerate until chilled.
In a mixing bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
Add marshmallows; stir until melted.
Add strawberries with their juice.
Let stand 10 minutes.
Pour over cream cheese layer.
Refrigerate until firm.
Cut into squares to serve.
