Strawberry Nut Salad
Strawberry Nut Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry jell-o, 1 (16 oz.) frozen strawberries (also use one 10 oz. frozen strawberries along with the 16 oz. size), 1 small can crushed pineapple (8 oz.), drained, 3 bananas, mashed well and 1 c. chopped nuts (pecans, english walnuts, etc.), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
π Recipe adapted from RecipeNLG-Full
Dissolve Jell-O in 2 cups boiling water. Add strawberries. Add pineapple, nuts and bananas.
(I let the strawberries thaw first, they seem to mix better.)
After you have mixed the ingredients all together, pour half of the mixture into a 10 x 13-inch glass dish and set in the refrigerator.
Leave the other half of the mixture set at room temperature. When first layer is set, blend Cool Whip and sour cream together.
Spread over top of set Jell-O, then add remaining Jell-O that has been setting at room temperature.
Return to refrigerator for top layer of Jell-O to set.
