St. Paul's Rice
St. Paul'S Rice is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. hot sausage (not links), 4 1/2 c. boiling water, 3/4 c. raw rice, 2 envelopes chicken noodle soup and 1 large green pepper, diced, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Brown sausage slowly in a large skillet, pouring off the grease as it accumulates.
Bring 4 1/2 cups water to a boil.
Add rice and soup mix.
Boil 9 minutes.
Remove from heat, but do not drain.
Mix browned sausage, rice mixture, green pepper, onion and celery.
Put into a large greased casserole and sprinkle paprika, parsley and slivered almonds over the top.
Bake for 1 hour at 350Β°. Serves 12.
