Cream shortening and sugar; add yolks and beat well . Add dry ingredients alternately with bananas and creamed mixture.
Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Beat well.
Fold in stiff egg whites gently. Bake at 350Β° in 2 (9-inch) pans which have been greased for 35 minutes.
