Stir meal into rapidly boiling milk.
Cook until thick, stirring constantly; don't scorch.
Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Add well beaten eggs, salt, baking powder and butter; beat with electric mixer for 15 minutes.
You might be tempted to cut this step short, but don't; this is really a soufflé and it won't rise as well.
Pour into well greased casserole.
Bake 30 minutes at 375°.
