Spicy Oatmeal Cake
Spicy Oatmeal Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/4 c. boiling water, 1 c. quick rolled oats, 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed, 1/2 c. soft margarine (1 stick) and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Pour boiling water over oats; cover and set aside.
In mixing bowl, gradually add sugar to batter, creaming well.
Beat in vanilla and eggs.
Add oat mixture to egg mixture; mix well.
Sift together remaining ingredients and stir until well blended.
Pour batter into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 to 30 minutes.
Frost with Lazy Daisy Frosting.
