Spicy Carrot Bars
Spicy Carrot Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed, 2/3 c. butter or margarine, 1 egg, 2 tsp. vanilla and 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Heat oven to 350Β°.
Cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla and blend well.
Combine flour, cinnamon, soda and nutmeg and add to butter mixture.
Mix well. Stir in oats, carrots and nuts.
Spread evenly in a 13 x 9-inch baking pan (lightly greased).
Bake 25 minutes until wooden pick comes out clean.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired. Cut into bars as desired.
