Spiced Cranberry Sauce
Spiced Cranberry Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. fresh cranberries, 2 c. sugar, 1 c. water, 3 sticks cinnamon and 3/4 tsp. ground cloves or to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Wash cranberries and let drain, then dissolve sugar and water in saucepan.
Add cranberries, cinnamon, cloves and lemon juice. Cook well over medium heat.
If berries pop too much, lower heat and cook until all berries are mashed.
Remove from heat. Dissolve 1 envelope of plain gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water.
Add to sauce and mix well.
Store in refrigerator.
May be stored in small containers and freeze for use in the spring.
Makes nice Christmas remembrances.
