Southern Style Hominy is an easy dinner. Made with 1 gal. shelled dry corn, 1 (2 lb.) corn cob ashes (oak ashes can be substituted) and 1 large box baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

You will also need 1 cloth sack and large wash pot.
A wooden frame with 1/4-inch spacing wire (hardware cloth) bottom will be useful for washing husk from corn if you are making this size batch.
Smaller batches can be cleaned by hand.
