Southern Popcorn Balls
Southern Popcorn Balls is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sorghum syrup, 1/3 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract, 2 tbsp. butter and 8 c. popcorn (popped without butter or oil), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Combine syrup and sugar in heavy skillet.
I like to use an iron skillet.
Bring to a boil and then reduce to medium high heat.
Cook, stirring often with wooden spoon, until mixture will spin a thread when dripped from the spoon or to a firm ball stage. Pour over the popped corn and stir until well coated.
Butter your hands and carefully form into balls.
Mixture will be hot. Handle it carefully.
