Measure flour and sift 3 times.
Measure sugar and sift 3 times.
Cream butter well.
Add sugar gradually to butter, creaming until light and fluffy.

Bake at 300° for 2 hours or 325° for 1 1/2 hours in a greased and floured tube pan.
