Soft Molasses Cookies
Soft Molasses Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 1/2 c. sifted flour, 1/4 tsp. allspice, 3/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. cloves and 2 tsp. ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Sift flour once.
Add salt and spices, then sift together. Beat eggs; add sugar.
Blend well, then add molasses and shortening.
Dissolve baking soda in coffee and add to other ingredients.
Combine with flour mixture, mixing thoroughly. Chill at least 1 hour.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375Β° for 10 to 15 minutes.
Makes 48 medium cookies.
