Soft Dutch Pretzels
Soft Dutch Pretzels is an easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1 tbsp. sugar, 2 tbsp. salt and 4 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Dissolve yeast in 1 1/2 cups of warm water.
Add sugar and salt.
Add flour and mix thoroughly.
Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead until smooth (5 minutes).
Roll into circle and divide into 8 pieces.
Roll each piece until 12 to 15 inches long, thin as a pencil and shape into pretzel.
Place foil on cookie sheet (shiny side up).
Beat 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon water and baste onto pretzels.
Sprinkle with salt.
Bake in hot oven at 425Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Yields 8 pretzels.
