So Easy Cream Puffs is an easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1/8 tsp. salt, 1 c. boiling water, 1 c. flour and 4 unbeaten eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Melt shortening in water and bring to a boil.
Dump in flour and salt all at once.
Stir and remove from heat.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Place on a cookie sheet a tablespoon at a time for large puffs or a teaspoon for small puffs.
Cook at 450° for 20 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° until lightly brown.
Cool. Slice off 1/4 from top of puff.
Fill with cream filling.
Replace top and sprinkle with powdered sugar or if filled with chocolate cream, dribble with chocolate.
