Snickerdoodles
Snickerdoodles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. soft shortening (do not substitute butter or margarine), 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 2 3/4 c. sifted flour and 2 tsp. cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix together thoroughly the shortening, sugar and eggs.
Sift together remaining ingredients and stir into creamed mixture.
Chill dough (overnight if you want).
Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
Roll in a mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon.
Place about 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake until lightly browned in 400Β° oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
Cookies puff up at first, then flatten out with crinkled tops.
Yield: about 5 dozen 2-inch cookies.
