Snickerdoodles
Snickerdoodles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 1 1/2 c. sugar (gradually), 2 eggs, 2 3/4 c. sifted flour and 2 tsp. cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Mix thoroughly the first 3 ingredients.
Sift together remaining ingredients.
Stir flour mixture gradually into creamed mixture one-third at a time.
Roll dough into balls the size of small walnuts.
In a custard cup, mix 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
Roll balls in the mixture.
Place about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake until lightly brown, but still soft.
(These cookies puff up at first, then flatten out with crinkled tops.)
Bake at 400Β° for 8 to 10 minutes.
Yield: 5 dozen 2-inch cookies.
