Sloppy Joe Pie
Sloppy Joe Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground beef, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 8 oz. can tomato sauce, 7 oz. can corn, drained and 1/4 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Heat oven to 375°.
In large skillet, brown ground beef and onion; drain.
Stir in tomato sauce, corn, water (optional) and seasoning mix.
Heat mixture until hot and bubbly; reduce heat and simmer while preparing crust.
Separate dough into 10 biscuits; flatten slightly.
Dip each in milk; dip in cornmeal.
Arrange 7 biscuits around sides and 3 in the bottom of 9-inch pie pan; press biscuits to form crust.
Sprinkle crust with 1/2 cup of the cheese. Spoon hot meat mixture over cheese; sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes or until crust is deep golden brown.
Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
