Skillet Chocolate Pie
Skillet Chocolate Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1-1/2 c. sugar, 2 tbsp. cocoa, 3/4 stick butter, 3 eggs and 4 tbsp. flour (heaping), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Into skillet, place sugar, flour, cocoa, milk, butter and vanilla and cook until thickened.
Add well beaten egg yolks, very rapidly.
Pour into baked pie crust and top with egg whites that have been beaten until peaks stand.
When peaks stand, add 4 tablespoons sugar and cream of tartar and beat again before putting on pie.
Brown in moderate oven.
