Shrimp-Oyster Gumbo
Shrimp-Oyster Gumbo is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large onion, 1 box okra or 1 can cut okra, drained, 1/2 c. butter, 1 lb. uncooked shrimp, peeled and cleaned and 1/3 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cook onion and red pepper in butter for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add flour and brown lightly.
Add water, tomatoes and gumbo file. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Add okra, shrimp and oysters. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper.
Serve over cooked rice.
