Sauerkraut Casserole
Sauerkraut Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 slices bacon, diced, 1 lb. ground beef, 1 medium onion, chopped, 1 large can sauerkraut and 2 c. mashed potatoes, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Fry bacon until crisp; drain and set aside.
Brown beef and onion; season with salt and pepper.
Mix in bacon.
Place in bottom of a 2-quart dish.
Spread sauerkraut and liquid on top. Cover with mashed potatoes.
Dot with butter.
Cover and bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes. Remove cover the last 5 to 10 minutes to brown potatoes.
