Sassafras Rice Casserole
Sassafras Rice Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 to 4 c. cooked rice (i prefer brown rice), 1/2 lb. smoked cheddar, grated, 1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans, 1 c. peas and 1/2 to 1 tsp. minced garlic, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Combine all ingredients except milk. Place in a 9 x 9-inch baking dish and pour milk around the sides of the dish.
Bake 20 to 30 minutes until brown at edges.
May top with cayenne or paprika to taste.
