Russian Borscht
Russian Borscht is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 2 minutes. Made with . beef (preferred) or chicken, qts. water, lg. onion, sliced, medium beets, finely sliced and -4 ripe tomatoes or 1 size 1 can of tomatoes, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
In a very large pan, slowly boil meat and onion in water for about an hour.
Add thinly sliced beets and boil 1/2 hour.
Add tomatoes, carrot, celery and parsley, and boil 1/2 hour.
Add Italian spinach and potato, and salt and pepper to taste.
Boil until potato is done and serve.
