Combine milk and sugar in a heavy saucepan.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.

Turn heat low. Cook 10 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.

Remove from heat, immediately add chocolate bits, Karo, butter and vanilla.

Stir until chocolate melts and fudge is smooth and creamy.

Stir in nuts.

Mix well.

Pour into buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan and chill in refrigerator 1 to 2 hours.

Cut into squares.

Makes about 2 1/2 pounds.

Keep in refrigerator until used.
