Red Velvet Cake
Red Velvet Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. butter, 3 eggs, 2 oz. red food coloring and 1 tbsp. vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream sugar and butter; add eggs and blend.
Make a paste of food coloring, vinegar and cocoa, then add to creamed mixture. Sift together remaining dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
Add vanilla and blend thoroughly.
Pour into 3 greased, floured and paper lined cake pans.
Cook at 350Β° for 35 minutes or until cakes are done.
Ice with special Red Velvet Icing.
