Red Velvet Cake

Make paste with the cocoa, food coloring and water.
Cream Crisco and sugar well.
Add eggs and cream well.
Add food coloring and cocoa mixture.
Gradually add flour and vanilla.
Remove beaters.
Add the vinegar.
Mix with spoon or spatula well.
Add the soda; mix well with spoon or spatula.
Pour into greased and floured cake pan, 9 x 11. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean in 350Β° oven.
